Everyone has there own personal views, especially concerning contentious issues or what they personally feel they have superior knowledge about. There is the potential for others to try to degrade or ridicule your personal view in order to gain credibility for their opinion or idea, which may include trying to shame you into agreeing with them.
It is ideal to not let others influence your strong beliefs and ideas, maintaining your opinions when necessary, especially in order to keep long-held and provable beliefs clear of unwanted influences. There is no necessity to resort to arguments in order to justify your stance, it is far better to state your beliefs clearly and calmly when prudent then ignore and further intrusions from dissenters.
Some people both close and strangers will try to manipulate your legitimate choices and actions through various means, it is imperative that such form of external influences are not allowed to control your key life decisions.
